LML Products has been formally recognised by General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) for more than a decade of outstanding service to the British Army’s Ajax armoured vehicle programme. At the 2025 GDLS Supplier Event, held at the company’s state-of-the-art Merthyr Tydfil facility in South Wales, LML received a specially commissioned medal celebrating its consistent record of quality, reliability and collaboration.

The two-day event brought together key members of the GDLS leadership team, including Executive Director Rhys Owen and Head of Supply Chain Louise Purcell, alongside representatives from MAKE-UK Defence and other strategic suppliers. Speaking via video link from the United States, GDLS Vice President & General Manager Scott Milne highlighted the Ajax family of armoured fighting vehicles as “best in class” and thanked suppliers for their pivotal role in achieving this success.

Ajax is a digitally enabled, tracked armoured vehicle designed to deliver transformational capability to the British Army. More than 130 vehicles have already been delivered, with a total of 589 on order and further variants planned. GDLS has also identified significant export opportunities, particularly in Eastern Europe, making the continued strength and reliability of its supply chain essential.

In this context, LML Product’s performance stands out. Over the past ten years, the company has consistently met demanding standards for precision components while delivering to schedule in a highly complex manufacturing environment. These achievements were singled out at the Supplier Event, where GDLS leadership emphasised that excellence in quality and delivery is critical to sustaining production “pulse rates” and supporting the Army’s future combat readiness.

Christopher Langridge, representing LML at the event, accepted the medal on behalf of the company.

“It is a privilege for LML Products to be recognised by General Dynamics for our contribution to the Ajax programme,”

he said. “This award reflects the dedication and expertise of our entire team. We are proud to play our part in equipping the British Army with world-class capability and to support the next phase of growth as Ajax moves into full production and export markets.”

Throughout the event, GDLS executives outlined ambitious plans for both the Ajax and Foxhound platforms, with a clear focus on innovation, continuous improvement and export growth. Suppliers were urged to maintain the highest standards of veracity, communication, agility, collaboration and resilience—qualities that LML has demonstrated throughout its partnership.

The recognition reinforces LML’s position as a trusted, forward-looking supplier to the UK defence industry. As the British Army invests heavily in its next generation of armoured vehicles, LML remains committed to excellence in facilities, materials, manpower and communication—ensuring that it continues to meet the demanding needs of GDLS and the wider defence community.

This award not only celebrates LML’s past achievements but also signals a shared commitment to the future: driving innovation, sustaining the UK’s defence capability and supporting prosperity through advanced manufacturing.
